SOME ESSENTIAL SKILLS - PART 1

ASSERTIVENESS
Being assertive is one of those things very difficult to do well, especially when you are starting out in business. Being assertive is having a deep-seated belief in you own worth.

YOU MUST BE CONFIDENT
You are the key to the success of your business. Confidence is the magic elixir in success. It is fundamentally a belief in your product or service, belief in yourself and belief in your company. This is achieved through series of positive feedback. Thus, it is a gradual process.

DON'T UNDERSELL YOURSELF
If you charge to low a price for your work, give in at negotiations, or get taken for a ride by suppliers it could be an indication that you are underselling yourself.

LEARN TO SAY NO
Definitely, there are times when you will have to say no to potential customers, friends or suppliers so that you can have time left for your work. The entrepreneur secret is to under-promise and over-deliver.
